The sciences and the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

During stage social confinement decreed to avoid COVID- 19 pandemic spread, this essay has been written basis on exercising criticism positions that from some scientific institutions -the national science academies in particular- they have taken about country situation current and decisions made by government authorities to prevent epidemic spread in the national territory. Essay body seeks to show, with the presentation of some scientific

fields associated with the scientific care of the pandemic -virology, epidemiology, and medicine-, the complexity, the incommensurabilities and the possible collisions that exist between them, situation that makes it difficult to obtain solutions supported only in the sciences. It concludes by calling attention to some lessons that can be derived from situation that has had to be lived in almost all world countries and, in particular, the role that the State has had to deal with in Venezuela.
