Subject matter /scope

The magazine "Observador del Conocimiento" is a scientific electronic publication, published quarterly. Its publishing entity is the National Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation, belonging to the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology. It is intended for the dissemination of scientific and technological production through original research results that represent a contribution to the visualization of science and technology. It also includes works of applied research, technological development, high impact bibliographic reviews and, eventually, case studies that, due to their relevance, deserve to be published, thus stimulating the written dissemination of the intellectual production of the national and international community. This contributes to the dissemination and socialization of research of interest for the development of science, technology and innovation policies and their applications that respond to the solution of specific problems of society.

General Objective

Disseminate research articles oriented to the social management of knowledge, according to national and international editorial quality standards, meeting the criteria for inclusion and national and international recognition in indexing databases, complying with the treaties of open access to information.

Types of articles

  • Research articles:  Space dedicated to the publication of unpublished manuscripts, which explain in detail the interpretation of the results. The structure should consist of five parts: abstract, introduction, methodology, results and conclusion. It has a maximum length of 25 pages, including references consulted.
  • Research essays: A space dedicated to the presentation of arguments, systematizations and analysis of unpublished research results, which show the advances and trends in a specific field of science, technology and innovation. The structure should be presented as follows: summary, introduction, development and conclusions. It has an extension of 15 pages including the references consulte.
  • Reviews: A space that analyzes publications of recent appearance in the subject matter covered by the journal. These must analyze documents published during the three (3) years prior to their submission, except in the case of classic works. The main purpose of a review is not simply to offer a summary of the book, but a critical analysis. This means that the author should evaluate the contribution to scientific knowledge in a specific field or topic in the field of science, technology and innovation and its applications. It includes: description of the review, introduction, author's contribution to the topic presented, concluding ideas. Include the image of the book cover in JPG format. The review should be 5 pages long.
