In order to generate public policies on the industry and commerce sector in Venezuela, it is extremely important to know this sector in depth. A dynamic way of collecting data that allows us to know the most important metrics of production and commercialization in the country is by creating a registry where all companies in the sector provide this data annually. SIGESIC is an Integral Management System for Industry and Commerce, whose objective is to compile and generate diverse views of the information related to the industrial and commercial sector in Venezuela. SIGESIC forms a subsystem of the project Industrial Map of Venezuela that intends to generate tools that allow to collect and to analyze information related to the industrial sector of the country, this application represents a great data repository that later can be analyzed and presented with other tools to take the best decisions for the public policies. The implementation of this registry used the free software development methodology developed by CENDITEL to guarantee the execution of the project under free standards and tools, as well as technology to implement distributed task queues, load balancing between application servers and batch file processing. Since March 2012 SIGESIC was made available to all citizens accompanied by a Resolution in the G.O. No 39,887, since then all economic units in the country have a record on the Web where they store information on their production, administrative, machinery among others that are requested in SIGESIC.
