Challenge of distance education in time of coronavirus: ¿frustration or motivation?

Abstract

This essay addresses the challenges of distance education in time of confinement due to the Coronavirus disease, both for the facilitator and for the learner, in a context of a global pandemic resulting from a lethal virus such as SARS-CoV-2 al which has not yet detected a treatment or vaccine to eliminate said disease. For which a documentary investigation was applied, on the Web and refereed magazines, as well as an opinion exploration of teachers from several national universities and students of the 6th semester of tourism at Unefa. Themain challenge resulted from frustration, generated by: little time available, fear of technology, among other reasons. While for the specialists, the demotivation of teachers and students resulted. Interpreting the results in the light of various theories, it is shown that the real challenge is to get rid of the paradigm of presence and marginality to virtuality. Suggesting in this regard the use of strategies that have different “rhizomatic” logics such as: divergent, creative criticism and collaborative interactive.
