Internships are a professional practice, which aims to give students the opportunity to apply in practice the knowledge acquired at the University, and are offered by companies, research institutes and universities. However, due to the growing interest in computer
technologies and the constant increase in the request for them, it is important to make a technological contribution to them, thus allowing students of Systems Engineering and related careers at the Universidad de Oriente in the Monagas core, to make intelligent searches, with which they can find the appropriate information about the internships offered, through their own language, allowing them to manage a knowledge in the area, which was formally represented through an ontology using the ontology editor Protégé OWL. This ontology describes the domain, classes and subclasses, properties, constraints and instances, that will make up the Semantic Web. The ontology development methodology was METHONTOGOLY, for the development of the WS we used the procedure exposed by Fernández (2009) called “semi-automatic procedure to transform the web into a semantic web”, using SW2SWS as a support toolfor the development of the Semantic Web.
