Quantum mechanics and blue economy: a reading from the philosophy of nature and ethics
Keywords:
Quantum mechanics, blue economy, biotechnology, nature, ethicsAbstract
Quantum Mechanics is present in many areas of our daily lives, although it is a field of study in development. For its part, the Blue Economy is a circular economy that has the oceans as a means of life and growth, establishing within its purpose’s improvements in well-being and social equity, reduction of environmental risks, rational consumption of resources, and the creation of competitive advantages through innovation, in particular biotechnology. In biotechnology, the impact of the development of quantum biology and quantum biotechnology over the last two decades is not negligible, developments that include the possibility of altering living or non-living materials through the design of functional biological systems. Thus, the applications of quantum physics begin to leave their mark on the blue economy without knowing for sure the trace they will leave in nature, for which we believe it is necessary to
examine philosophically, under the methodology of documentary analysis, the potential scope of this impact To this end, we will describe the encounter that is taking place between quantum biology and the blue economy, we will analyze nature as an entity to be reproduced, altered or modified to reach the differences in the notion that hides the intersection technology-quantum mechanics-economy, and we will review the ethical aspects that confront us with the possibility of altering life and the habitat in which it develops.
