Use of Statistical Technique “Two-Stage Grouping” for Nutritional Assessment in Rural Communities of Venezuela
Keywords:
Assessment, nutrition, clusters, food sufficiencyAbstract
To build a profile of households based on nutritional variables, the objective of this work was to establish groups of communities, related according to continuous and categorical nutritional assessment variables, through a statistical grouping technique: the grouping technique (Cluster). in two stages; This technique was used to obtain data from the beneficiary communities of the Special Food Security Program (PESA), executed by FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture, in rural settlements in Venezuela. The data come from the “Home Food Security Survey” (ESAH), applied to rural communities in 2003 and 2006.
